Global Campus Studio – Week 4

To prepare for this weeks session I watched the interview with Michael Morgan the Co-Founder and Director of Original magazine about cultivating a digital platform and audience. I then answered the questions in response to the interview which really made me question my own views on creativity.

During the session we talked about social media and online marketing and then we were tasked with in our breakout groups to chose a pre-existing person or brand and establish a social media plan to market them in a different country. We chose to focus on Lola Young who is already known in the UK and Canada and we chose to market her in South Korea.

We had to research about the ways that they use social media in South Korea and combine that with our pre existing knowledge of the country. We followed the prompts to consider how we would market Lola young in a way that aligns with their culture and encourages the existing Korean music fanbase. Ultimately, we did finish this task before our time was up and so we spent the rest of the time talking and getting to know each other and talking about our experiences and our countries. We got to hear some other groups submissions and it was interesting to hear how they would market different artists to different counties.

After the session, I answered the weekly manifesto questions in regards to social media.
